Privacy Policy
Last updated June 22, 2026
Harbourpoint Community (“we,” “us,” or “the portal”) is a private, invite-only website for residents of the Harbourpoint building in Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who can see it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
We only collect information needed to run the resident portal:
- Account details — your name, email address, and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us).
- Verification details you provide at sign-up — an optional Facebook profile link and an optional note to the admin, used to confirm you live in the building.
- Profile details — an optional unit number and an optional phone number.
- Content you post — parking, locker, marketplace, and contractor listings, including any photos, descriptions, prices, availability, and contact details you choose to include.
- Booking records — when you request or host a booking, we store the listing, dates, and the parties involved.
- Basic usage analytics — anonymous, aggregated page-visit data to understand how the portal is used.
We do not process payments. Any payment between neighbours happens offline and directly between you — we never see or store payment card or bank details.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and verify you are a resident.
- To let you browse, post, and arrange parking, lockers, items, and contractors.
- To send you transactional emails — for example, account approval, and booking requests, confirmations, or declines. We do not send marketing email.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the portal and keep it secure.
What other residents can see
This is a community board, so some of your information is visible to other approved residents — not to the public. When you create a listing, the contact details attached to it (such as your name, email, phone number, or Facebook link) are shown to other approved residents so they can reach you to arrange a rental or sale. Please only include contact details you are comfortable sharing with your neighbours.
Your account record itself is private — only you and the building admin can see your full profile.
Service providers we share with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the portal work, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and photo storage.
- Resend — delivery of transactional emails.
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous usage analytics.
These providers may process or store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), subject to their own security and privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to operate the portal, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and the content you posted, except where we are required to retain certain records.
Your rights and choices
You can, at any time:
- Access or correct your information from your profile page.
- Delete your account and data — use the Delete account button on your profile page to remove your account immediately, or email us at sava.stosic3@gmail.com and we will remove your account and the content you posted.
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account and stopping use of the portal.
Security
Access to the portal is limited to residents who are manually approved by the building admin. We use reputable providers and access controls to protect your information. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
Children
The portal is intended for residents who are adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their province.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be communicated by email.
